In my hometown of Duluth, a client approached me with a request to estimate the value of a property they recently acquired. As we conversed, they expressed their desire to preserve the beautiful white oak floors that had been covered with hardwood. Intrigued, I inspected the floors and became convinced that reviving them was indeed achievable. With determination, we removed the remaining staples and utilized the Lagler Hummel to eliminate any imperfections. Coincidentally, I had recently acquired a new machine, the Pallmann Spider, and saw this project as the perfect opportunity to put it to the test. The Spider worked wonders on these aged floors, revealing stunning rift and quarter sawn white oak patterns once we applied the stain. While the clients enjoyed an evening at the Duluth Fall Festival, conveniently located within walking distance from their house, we diligently applied Duraseal Oil Based polyurethane to finish the floors. The following day, as the finish dried, the client was delighted with the outcome and expressed their intention to hire me again for the remaining original flooring once they had the resources.
